Working with others

Members of Christchurch are involved in mission in the wider town .....

Street Pastors

Street Pastors is a national Christian organisation responding to the needs of young people on the streets of our towns and cities, and there is a new initiative starting in Luton. Working especially in the evenings (and later!) in our town centre, Street Pastors will seek to provide a listening ear for those in trouble, and practical support for those who need it. In towns and cities where Street Pastors are established, crime rates have dropped by around 30%.

Luton Town Centre Chaplaincy

With thousands of people working in or visiting Luton Town Centre every day – each with a variety of ongoing concerns or immediate needs - the Luton Town Centre Chaplaincy is new initiative that will care for all. It will seek to provide pastoral support to anyone who needs it – and although run and hosted by Christians, it will seek to provide a service to those of all faiths, or none.

Michael Campbell has now been appointed as the full-time Chaplain, and will begin his work at the beginning of September 2010, working from a base in the town centre. He will initially recruit volunteer chaplains from the local churches and an administrator.  View the DVD on their web-site.
